Christmas Gift Swap give-and-take: bring your unwanted gifts and swap them for something else!

Thursday 20th November, 7.30pm
Free entry - All welcome

Douglas Tilbe House, Hall Grove, Welwyn Garden City, AL7 4PH

We will be holding a seasonal event next week, to help people to save money and at the same time lead a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle.

Called 'Credit Crunch Christmas' the event will look at ways of spending less at Christmas, with the emphasis on a greener lifestyle, and all without becoming a Scrooge!

Welwyn Hatfield Friends of the Earth co-ordinator, Wendy Attwell, said: “All too often people see 'being green' as something that only the very well-off can afford to do. Christmas is always hard on the wallet, and more so this year with the current credit situation. We want to show that it is possible to have a festive Christmas that is both green and affordable for all.”

This event will include talks on presents, decorations, food and energy; Christmas-themed stalls; and a Christmas gift swap give-and-take – the idea being that people bring out those unwanted gifts that have been sitting in their cupboard for a year and swap them for something else that they can then give as a gift this year. The group would like everyone who comes along to try to bring an item to donate or swap.
